Popular Radio Presenter Threatens To Sue FDA And Gaming Commission If Ban On Celebrities Is Lifted
Just as many celebrities are fighting for the lift of ban on Betting and alcohol advertisement.
Other celebrities are also behind and supporting the ban on celebrities. That have been banned from advertising and endorsing betting and alcohol beverages.
Some months ago, the FDA barred celebrities from advertising for alcoholic companies.
A couple of days gone down, the Gaming Commission also issued a new directive. Which prevents betting operators from using celebrities or public figures in promoting gambling.
Well, popular Ghanaian radio presenter, Kwame OB Nartey has threatened to personally sue the Gaming Commission and Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
His comment came after other celebrities in Ghana mounted pressure on Gaming Commission and Food and Drug Board(FDA) to make changes in their recent decision.
However, Kwame OB Nartey, who works with Vision1 FM, also urged the authorities of these institutions not to pay attention to any pressure from anyone.
According to him, the country is struggling to control certain ill-mannered behaviours from the youth. So the decision was a good step in the right direction.
In a social media post sighted by thefiifi.com, he wrote:
“I will personally sue the Gaming Commission and FDA if they rescind their decision on banning Celebrities from endorsing Betting ventures and Alcoholic brands.
“We’re already fighting and struggling with sexual immorality, this won’t add up to the battle. Ghana has a culture and heritage built on moral principles. We all loosing the youth of this nation. Arise Ghana youth for your country!!!!! #SayNo2BETnAlcoholEndorsement.”
